Ash's novella is finally here!

Since the day I wrote One Carefree Day, I knew I couldn’t possibly leave Willow’s cousin, Ash without a story of her own. She’s probably my favorite character to write, so when I decided to write her prequel novella, One Day Too Late, it was nothing but a good time and I’m honestly sad it’s over.

One Day Too Late is out in the world now, available for purchase in ebook and paperback. If you sign up for my newsletter, you can grab a free copy!

A nice, clean break.

That's Ash's solution when Joseph, her on and off boyfriend, admits he loves her right before she leaves for her Hawaii vacation.

Love is messy. Love is disappointing. Just ask her parents.

But when Ash seeks out a fling in her new surroundings to help the guilt in her heart disappear, she can't stop herself from fantasizing about Joseph at all the wrong times.

Worried breaking his heart was a horrible mistake, Ash must decide if love is as awful as she's always believed, or if she just threw away the best thing that's ever happened to her.

Set before Whitney Amazeen’s One Carefree Day, One Day Too Late is a novella told from the perspective of Ash, Willow’s best friend and cousin. It can be read before or after One Carefree Day.

My next book, coming this fall!

Hello friends and readers!

It’s been a while since I’ve updated this blog. In fact, I believe it’s almost been a year now. And during that time, I’ve finished my second book—which I’m about to tell you about— and started writing book three, my next YA novel!

I can’t say much else about that yet, but I CAN spill some deets on my next book, which I’m excited to announce is called…

SOMETHING BRIGHT AND BURNING

It’s an adult women’s fiction/romance and I can’t wait for you all to read it! Here’s a summary:

Everly Martin, eighteen years old and fiercely ambitious, takes pity on Nicolai after accidentally swiping right on a dating app. She doesn't have time for love, not with her desperation to finish college and earn enough money to help her single mom pay the bills. But from the moment they meet at a coffee shop, Nicolai terrifies her with the instant connection they form. He couldn't have come at a worse time, because that same morning, Everly learns she's pregnant. And to make matters worse, she isn't sure who the father of her child is.

Though Everly is determined to stay far away from Nicolai, he reappears in her life, this time in a way she can't ignore. While fighting her growing attraction for him, Everly is haunted by the knowledge that her baby's father might actually be a terrible person. She's willing to find out, even if learning the truth ultimately ends in heartbreak.

Nicolai might not have a place Everly's future, but when he helps her discover a shocking truth about her past—a truth that could either change everything for the better, or destroy it even more—Everly must decide what's more important: giving her child the life she's always wanted, or following her heart and choosing love.

Something Bright and Burning releases September 20, 2022! Pre-order links and will be available soon. Also, keep your eyes peeled for the cover reveal!

What's it about?

~

For eighteen-year-old Willow Bates, anxiety is just a part of life. With her every decision ruled by intrusive thoughts, she's worried she sometimes seems a little odd. Despite Willow's efforts to hide her OCD from those around her, it isn't always possible. Her rituals are her coping mechanism, and Willow's past has left her with a lot to cope with.

But when Willow takes things too far, her mother breaks and gives her an ultimatum: Willow must finally start taking meds to treat her obsessive-compulsive disorder, or she'll have to move out within three months. But Willow is terrified of both options, and can't afford to support herself as a new cosmetology student.

Only when Theo Tate moves in next door does Willow begin to see hope. Theo might have a way for Willow to avoid taking meds and still resist her rituals. But falling for Theo is definitely not part of the plan. And mingling with him has risks not even Willow could possibly control, let alone be prepared for.
